Windows 2000 - Service Pack 3 |
09:50am Sep 30, 2002 PST (#1 of 4) Some Windows 2000 users have reported problems opening a shared database from an AppleShare IIP server after installing Service Pack 3 . After starting Clients & Profits and selecting the database, this error appears " is in use elsewhere and cannot be shared" and they're prompted to open a different database. This error occurs if the database is already opened by other Clients & Profits users. Connecting from a Windows 2000 SP3 workstation to a Windows server works fine. Mark Robillard Developer, Clients & Profits 12:22pm Oct 28, 2002 PST (#2 of 4) Hello, I installed the Win2000 Service Pack 3 upgrade last Friday. Our "My Clients and Profits" web server now exhibits the problem stated in the previous message.
If no other network client is connected to the database I can open from the MCaP server but then everyone else is locked out. So for now our MCaP server is dead in the water.
Help? Bill Raab 04:53am Feb 3, 2003 PST (#3 of 4) Also Concur on Win2000 SP3 problem
We have the same problem. Has anyone received help from C&P regarding this issue?
Has anyone had it resolved?
Will the upgrade to C&P 5 fix it? Chris Goodwin 01:19pm Feb 14, 2003 PST (#4 of 4) Just a quick clarification. As stated above by our developer, the only known incompatibility with Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 is when using it under an AppleShare IP server.
Service Pack 3 is compatible with Clients & Profits, but not in that particular circumstance. There is no issue with service pack 3 under Windows-based servers. Chris Lawrence - Clients & Profits Helpdesk |
