I have a client just getting into Clients & Profits. We have set up an iMac to Timbuktu into remotely. The bookkeeper remotes into the iMac from a PC. The issue arises in that she needs to print reports, invoices and checks. Is there a method to doing this to where she can get these printouts from her PCs printer. I cannot find anything on it in the documentation. I have thought to install some PDF writing software on the iMac and then exhange this file to the PC for printing. I think this will work, but does anyone have other solutions.
Thanks,

If you come up with a printing solution on your own, please forward it on to us. I work from home in Virginia on an iBook and I use Timbuktu to connect to the Apple computer in our office in California. I have never been able to print from home. I set everything up and all the printing is done in the California office. When I need a report I print it on their printer and they fax it to me. It would be nice to print it myself.
I hope we get the solution we are looking for. Thanks for bringing it up.

I figured two separate solutions to the printing problem. One, I enabled faxing from the iMac so I could fax to myself. Second, I used a shareware extension called PrinttoPDF, similar to PDFWriter, and had it create a PDF in a folder on the desktop. I then just grab those files and transfer it to the client computer. Seems to work.

I work from home in Victoria and our office is in Calgary. I use a powerbook G3 and am able to print by using local talk. I have a Hewlett Packard 6MP which is a fabulous little laser printer  a real workhorse. I have a high speed cable modem to connect to the Calgary server (through the chooser) where the database resides. Itís not very fast though  Iíve heard that Timbuktu is faster.

We use Timbuktu and the only way I have found to print a report is by making a PDF of the report then emailing it to my home email. I can then print the report from that.

One more way...
1) Make sure you have a laser printer at home that is capable of TCP/IP printing. Make sure it gets a public IP address.
2) Setup the remote CPU to print to your local TCP/IP printer by utilizing the Desktop Printer Utility.
Presto, your printing Postscript directly to your own printer! No PDF mess, no file transfer fuss!
