Second Worker on Task Using Subtasking

02:22pm Jan 23, 2001 PST (#1 of 5)

We have recently put together our Logistics Dept. we have found there are many useful tools in C&P, but also have many problems to solve, and links to put together. I am currently trying to find a way to put 2 people on the same task, and have the work to do report acknowledge it. Work to do will provide the hours given to a task on a job, and the hours left to the task on the job, but for only one person per task. Any tips? I would also like to know as much new information about traffic as possible. Please respond with any helpful advise. Thanks.

I create a sub-task and assign it to the second resource.

We do that too ... but then the sub task doesn't have any hours assigned to it, and it won't track a portion of the hours (budgeted vs. completed) for the additional person. All hours still go against the main person. Okay for assignments and due dates, but difficult for breaking down budgeted hours.

We also use sub-tasks. How do you adjust for the 2nd resource's hours not subtracting from the main tasks estimated hours?

That's what we do. However, when you have a lot of tasks that are split between two people, scheduling becomes more complex. It would be great if C&P offered a way to do this without subtasking.
