Updated: October 14, 2008 This
upgrade represents the
first major upgrade of Clients & Profits X since its launch.
It features dozens of new features and enhancements, as well
as bug fixes reported by users like you.
Mac
OS X 10.3 (Panther) is no longer supported Clients
& Profits X 10.2 has been optimized for Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
but also works with Mac OS X 10.4.
Clients & Profits Classic X now supports
MySQL 5 If you use Clients & Profits Classic X and are outgrowing
the built-in database, the 10.2 upgrade lets you take advantage of the performance
and reliability of MySQL 5. An experience MySQL database administrator is required,
however, since the C&P Helpdesk does not provide technical support for SQL.
Custom reports from C&P X 10.x need to be
converted Any custom report (or plug-in application) created
in previous versions of Clients & Profits X can't be opened in Clients & Profits
X 10.2 until it is converted for the new upgrade. We'll do the conversion for
you usually the same day. Send your custom reports to helpdesk - at - clientsandprofits.com.

Notes: Clients & Profits
X 10.1
No more
toolbar shortcuts Due to a bug in the database
engine that runs Clients & Profits X, the program's toolbar has been removed.
The toolbar, which featured shortcuts for add time, expense
reports, calendar entries, and choosing a report destination (e.g., printer,
screen, PDF, e-mail, etc.) was the cause of excessive slowness when printing
reports. There are no alternative shortcuts for its functions, except for choosing
a print destination (see below). The toolbar may be restored in a future update
if the issue is fixed.
How to choose a report destination To
change where a report is printed (e.g., from
Screen to Printer), look for the Change Print Destination menu command in any
File menu. The default destination for reports can still be customized for
each user in Users, Access & Passords.
No more 2000-character text
fields limits The ability to enter more than
2000 characters
into text fields (such as the job description) has been restored. This limit
was imposed in Clients & Profits X 10.0 in order to be compatible with
Oracle-based
SQL databases, which limited the size of text fields. Since Oracle is no longer
supported, the limitation was no longer needed. You can now enter long descriptions
into both new records and existing records.
