Clients & Profits X 10.2.2 Update Guide |

Clients & Profits X 10.2.2 is an update to the original Clients & Profits X 10.2.0 application. This update includes new features, enhancements and bug fixes. It replaces your existing Clients & Profits X 10.0.0x applications throughout your shop. These instructions explain how to install the new software.
The update installers, which are available for the Mac OS and Windows,
can be downloaded from the Clients & Profits
X web site. The installers replace your existing Clients & Profits X application on your hard disk. The installer does not replace your custom reports, plug-in applications, or spelling dictionaries.
 Clients & Profits X 10.2.2 has the same system requirements as previous versions. It uses the same C&P Player, so a new serial number isn't required. Your database may need a minor reorganization before it can be used, which occurs automatically the first time it is opened by Clients & Profits X 10.2.2.
Clients & Profits X 10.2.2 is compatible with Mac OS version 10.4 and later. Earlier versions of Mac OS X will damage your database. It
is not compatible with Mac OS 9.2 or earlier. For up-to-date information please see the System

Since everyone should always be using the same version of Clients & Profits
X , it should be installed on all your shop's computers at the same time.
Mixing old and new copies of Clients & Profits on the same database
is not recommended and can cause data problems.

To update Clients & Profits X 10.2.2 on a Macintosh
The Clients & Profits X 10.2.2 Update installer will copy the new C&P X application to your hard disk.
1 Download the installer from our web site.
2 Double-click on the Install C&P X 10.2.2 Update installer application.
3 Follow the installer's prompts to save the new Clients & Profits
folder on your hard disk.
The Clients & Profits X 10.2.2 application will appear on your hard disk.
4 Move the Clients & Profits X 10.2.2 application into your C&P folder.
 If
you use aliases: If you'd set up aliases to your Clients & Profits
application, it needs to be deleted (since they point to the
old version which has been replaced). You'll then need to create
new aliases that point to the new version.
To start Clients & Profits X 10.2.2 for Macintosh
1 Double-click on the new Clients & Profits Player.
2 Click on the Open Database button.
3 From the Open Database prompt, select and open your
database from the file server.
The first time Clients & Profits X 10.2.2 opens your database, it'll prompt you to check it for any needed conversions, including reorganizations. Reorganization updates the database to work with some new features in Clients & Profits X 10.2.2. The database can only be reorganized if no one else is currently using Clients & Profits.
4 Click Yes when prompted to convert your database,
then introduce yourself.
Once reorganized, your database is ready to use.
To update Clients & Profits X 10.2.2 on a PC
The Clients & Profits X 10.2.2 Update installer will copy the new C&P X application to your hard disk.

2 Double-click on the Install C&P X 10.2.2 Update installer application.
3 Follow the installer's prompts to save the new Clients & Profits
folder on your hard disk.
The Clients & Profits X 10.2.2 application will appear on your hard disk.
4 Move the Clients & Profits X 10.2.2 application into your C&P folder.
If you use shortcuts: If you'd set up shortcuts to your Clients & Profits application, they need to be deleted (since they point to the old version which has been replaced). You'll then need to create new shortcuts that point to the new version.

1 Double-click on the new Clients & Profits Player.
2 Click on the Open Database button.
