When and where are the classes held? Clients & Profits
new-user classes are held once or twice monthly (depending on
demand). They are held at the Clients & Profits classroom,
4755 Oceanside Blvd., Suite 250, Oceanside, CA 92056.
Do I need to rent a car? Yes, probably. Oceanside
is located about 1 hour north of San Diego and 2 hours south
of Los Angeles. There are few cabs or car services here,
so you will need a car to get from the airport, to the hotel,
and to our offices. Need directions?
How much does this class cost? $595 per person. The
cost includes a training workbook, continental breakfast,
and refreshments.
Is the class refundable if I have to cancel? No. Refunds
cannot be issued, but full credit will be applied towards
another scheduled class of your choice. The substitute class
must be taken within one year.
When does the class begin and end each day? The
class starts promptly at 8:30 a.m. both days. The class usually
ends between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. each day, depending upon
number of questions asked by the class participants.
Who should attend this class? Anyone who wishes
to better understand the "big picture" of how Clients & Profits
integrates job planning, tracking, costing, billing and accounting
in an advertising agency.
How much do I need to know about Clients & Profits? The
more you know about the software, the more you will absorb
the information presented and be prepared to ask questions.
However, no experience is required. You will get more benefit
from the class if you have at least gone through the tutorial
in your program. Familiarity with your computer helps, too.
Taking the online
tutorial is a prerequisite, which is also available with
full narration on your Clients & Profits CD.
Do I need to bring my computer? No. Since the new
user class is not hands-on, it is not necessary to bring
a computer. The goal of the class is for you to learn what
the software can and can't do and how to return to your shops
and implement it as quickly and easily as possible. Data
entry is the easy part when you return home, but it really
slows down the class. Trying to follow along with your computer
is not advised.
How should I dress for the class? Wear whatever's
comfortable. The weather in San Diego is nearly always mild,
and jeans and sneakers are almost a uniform for the locals.
It is suggested that you bring a light jacket or a sweater
because San Diego, as well as our classroom, can be cool.
If I'm only interested in production, can I skip the accounting day? Yes,
but it's not recommended. Since Clients & Profits is an integrated
application, production and accounting work together throughout almost
the entire system. So the more you know about how Clients & Profits
handles job costing, billing, and accounting the better prepared you'll
be to make decisions about how to use it. Same goes for the accounting
people; the more they know about the production process, the more they'll
be able to make it productive. In any case, no credits are issued for
partially-used classes.
Is the class useful even if we're not using the latest
version of C&P? Yes, definitely. While the new user
class is always taught using the latest version of Clients & Profits
Classic or Clients & Profits Pro, it focuses on the production
and accounting basics. These essential concepts apply to
all versions of Clients & Profits, new and old. So even
if you're a few versions behind, you'll still leave the class
with tips and ideas that will really pay off (and probably
a few reasons to update, too).
How do I sign up for a class? Call (800) 272-4488 to
register for any class or register
online.
Is their any other important information I should know? Classes
are small and personalized, so space is reserved on a first-come,
first-served basis. All reservations must be paid for prior
to the seminar. Reservations are not guaranteed until paid.
Use your VISA, MasterCard, or American Express. Refunds cannot
be issued, but full credit will be applied towards another
scheduled class of your choice. Classes may be canceled any
time without notice, but no class will be canceled if there
are paid attendees.
What happens during the class? See the class
outline for a complete description of the class.
