David Dalton has been using Clients & Profits since 2000. He has more than 20 years of professional working experience as a controller, VP of finance, and chief financial officer in the wholesale distribution, commercial and residential security, and advertising industries. Most recently, David spent more than six years in the custom publishing industry. David has a BS in Accounting from Bentley College and an MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurial Studies from Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College. 

David’s experience in financial management includes general ledger accounting, monthly financial statement preparation, forecasting and variance analysis, and investment and cash flow management (including analysis of client billing, collections, and vendor payment to improve efficiencies and increase cash flow and investment income). In addition, David has evaluated and enhanced employee compensation and benefit programs, and has maximized staff productivity and reduced operating overhead in the areas of human resources and operations. David always challenges himself and others to find a better, more effective way to do their work — he is never satisfied with the status quo.

David has also provided strategic advice and performed due diligence work for both sides of various mergers and acquisitions, seeing them through to the deal’s closing. He has served as a part-time and interim controller and CFO, and has assisted in business start-ups, expansions, and contractions over the past 22 years. He has managed banking relationships (i.e., loan and line of credit negotiations) and external accounting relationships (i.e., year-end audit/review, financial statements, and tax return filings). No job or task is too big or small; David loves the opportunity to roll up his sleeves and dive into a new challenge or problem that faces a client to achieve a successful outcome.

David’s years of experience using Client & Profits allow him to bring a high level of expertise with him to maximize and improve a company’s efficiency and overall performance.
